Howdy! I picked up a SG for my new 80 series so I could play with it on my drive out to Illinois. Worked fine, made me a little more comfortable with the engine temps while towing. I haven't decided where to mount it yet, but I am leaning towards the rear view mirror mount that comes with a coupon when you buy the gauge. Anyone running that one? I looks like it might hold the gauge too close to the sun visors to allow them full range of motion. How well does it fit? John

Sorry, this is off topic but, I'm a farm boy from Southern Illinois. I'll be heading out there for vacation in July. All my family is still there. You from there? Where if I might ask ;)

Note that the screen doesn't do too well when it gets hot, so mounting it right up by the windshield won't be too good unless it's never in direct sunlight. I mounted mine on the steering column. I like it because it's a quick glance to check temps, accurate mph, and mpg.

I too have mine mounted with velcro on the steering column so far it has worked great....does cover some of the dumby lights however.
I am planning on putting my 2m above the mirror.

Mine is also mounted on the steering column. Great for a quick glance, just like what the others say.

Come on guys, get hip already! :grinpimp:

Ding Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! My spell checker caught it after I hit the send button. Unfortunately, IH8MUD will not let you edit the subject line after you have screwed it up. Oh, the Humility of it all!?!? John

Howdy! Monmouth. It's about 20 miles from the MIssissippi river, due west of Peoria. Where you from? John

John, I know where that is. Never been there though. We're quite a bit south of you I'm from a little town called Pinckneyville. I have lived in a few different towns Mt Carmel, Cisne, and Coulterville. Mom lives in Coulterville now which is about an hour and thirty minutes from St. Louis and about 20 miles west of Pinckneyville. Dad's side of the family and the family farm are in Duquoin which is about 20 miles east of Pinckneyville. If you have ever heard of Carbondale its about 30 miles south of P'ville :D I cannot F'N wait to get back there to visit. We're gonna move back there before my son starts Kindergarten and I can't friggen wait :D

Off topic, but there are a ton of midwestern transplants out here i've noticed, especially from IL., but not many of them want to go back. Something about the cold, but I can't wait to layer up again. I'm from the Chicagoland area, but spent my teen years in the Galena/Mt. Carroll area. So do you guys really hate mud or do you miss the loamy black dirt too??

I'd rather be freezing my ass off than sweating my balls off any day!!!! ;) When I met my wife I got a insta-family so I'm stuck here till the oldest graduates High School :( Otherwise I would have been back several years ago!!!

Inkpot, you talking about this mount? This is the way id do it. Seen on Amazon. The Scanguage II is $159 there, is that a good price?

Thanks! After looking for a while, I agree the Scanguage II seems the best for size and options. $149.95 with the IH8MUD Discount! Ive been putting it off for too long, and I really need a better guage for towing this summer and watching temps. I may have to go visit them :hhmm:

p.s. they are in stock :D
