I was going to post this on sunday but I needed a diversion from my studies, so here they are....What can I say, I had a blast and the best for me is always the comments from the passengers like... "ummm I dont know if this is such a good idea" or "now where do we go, there is no way were getting over that!" Then moments later I look over and say something like how dare you second guess my LC!!:grinpimp:

On this section I got the most reaction, the sucking of air through the teeth from passengers as we drove over it, not a big deal to us but others find this a little indimidating..

Here I was spreading "The Word" about Mud, another LC owner converted possibly...

Awesome pics and cool trip

Nice pics! I always love going up that canyon, especially with a newbie. Last time I was up there, Darrin (Darwalk) and I went up to the end of the canyon in our bone stock 80's. (The running boards suffered a little)

Looks like you need some of these: http://www.ih8mud.com/IH8MUD_ForumCard.doc

I keep a grip of them in my center console.

I haven't been to SSC at all this year. From the pictures, it looks so much different than past years.

No flares on that 80 series? is that Bostons old rig already out and about?

Nope the holes aren't welded up. That guy looks really familiar though. Probably just a co-incidence.

Those are some great pics. That is one canyon out there that I have been wanting to go see but it has never worked out. I need to set an agenda next time. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking the same thing when driving it, its as if there is less sand inbetween the cliffs, like its deeper or something... Definately morphing....

Naw.....

Seriously though, SSC looks way different. I'll be heading out there next month to check it out.

Nice report.

Zach - To bad I didn't run into you guys that day. That Jeep looks like the same one I saw up on Diablo Drop off, they definitely have some $$$ sunk into them.

We'll all have to do a run up SSC I still have not run it.:frown:

well

Just past the obstacle w/ jeep, there are some very tight twists, then one more obstacle that we 80s drivers could do then thats pretty much the end of the road for most. Just gets really tight...

Dan- Those guys commented to me that they were going to do diablo and pinyon, the squeeze and all that. they invited me but I told them I did not have time and my LC would not fit through the squeeze. I was suprised that at one point I actually dented my tail pipe coming down off of one step section. You might scratch a little Dan but like someone said they took their stock 80s through there recently, so no worries....

I believe you can go father than we went in the link you posted. Brent and I walked up a ways to get a feel for the terrain. We determined, at that time, that it would be better to turn around based on the rigs in our group.

Mark and I went up a little further, but turned around due to time restraints.

So who knows. One day I might just try to take it to the limit.
