She's been replaced by a Tundra and there's not room in the driveway for both, unfortunately. This was my daily in town driver for a year and has since been used only for adventuring in the mountains.
I purchased the Cruiser in 2017 after a year's search and have since put quite a bit of money in to catch up on maintenance and a few repairs, which will be detailed below. The previous owner bought it in New Mexico and almost immediately replaced the engine with a used unit with 170,000 miles on it or so. As a Cruiser that spent most of its time in the southwest, there's very little rust. She fires up every time, even in the dead of winter. The emissions equipment has been removed so the check engine light is always on. Most of the work has been done by The Land Cruiser Shop here in Sandpoint with some done by another ASE certified shop in town.
Work done in 2021:
New battery
New rear brakes (pads, rotors, calipers)
New starter
Steering knuckle service, including new wheel bearings
New tie rod ends
Alignment
New BFG KO2 all terrain tires (4) - less than 2000 miles
Previous work since I’ve owned it:
New front brakes (pads/rotors/calipers) - 2018
New power steering pump - 2018
The good:
Factory triple-locked
3rd row seating
Spent good deal of its life in Southwest - very little body/frame rust
Heavy duty running boards/rock sliders
LED light bar is great for visibility
The bad:
Burns/leaks oil
Faded paint
Sun cooked leather on front seats - seat covers have been a great solution
Light body damage from off roading
Cracked windshield
Intermittent speedometer
Oil pressure gauge not working
No A/C
