How up to date is the list on the first page? I'm looking for a reputable shop to resurface my 1HZ flywheel. Since they are not readily available if they poop it up, I don't want to just take it anywhere. I'm in north county so prefer closer, but would drive if the shop was highly regarded.

Bump! (If this isn’t allowed, let me k ow or delete it. Sorry!)

I took a friend's @elripster recommendation and used Mesa Machine & Supply and they did a great job.

Does anyone have a good shop for late model stuff? I see Noah's Arks, but it looks like that mostly caters to the older vehicles. I've got what looks to be a pinion seal leak in the front diff of my 2015 LX and just want a reputable shop that can verify and repair my guess and knows what pinion preload is.

SD Trux is my go to. Great shop. Off Miramar Rd.

Has anyone tried these guys? I'm sending them an email to see if they're up for a '97 head gasket project.
I don’t recommend. Back in 2005 I purchased a wheel set for my new 05 Tacoma. The install took a long time. A few months later I had noticed surface rust on the front brake calipers. I looked closer and saw that the calipers were grinded down to accommodate the wheels! They ordered the wrong offset and hid this. Stay away.

Thanks for the heads! I emailed them, but got no response. So they're off the list. To their credit SD Trux was quick to respond to my email inquiry, but told me that they're not accepting any old 80 series TLCs unless the they've worked on it previously due to too many owner mods and sketchy owner work. Noah's Arks also responded quickly but are backup until after the year end.

I did learn of two shops I've not heard of before, both located in North SD county in San Marcos, both with lots of good Yelp and Google reviews. I was referred to Performance Edge by the previous owner of my LC who gave them high marks for LC work. On inquiring with them about the head gasket job the owner 'Stormy' referred me to Aloha Automotive also in San Marcos as the place he recommended. Aloha owner Doug Prout (who worked for Toyota Escondido in the 90's) seemed LC knowledgeable and friendly and up for the job, so I'll probably have them do the head next week and will report back on the experience.

Thanks in advance for contributing.
Amazing list - thanks for putting this together. I am definitely in need of a shop that can tackle rust for my '87 FJ60.

It's rearing it's ugly head in a few of the most common spots, most notably the roof.

Any San Diego recommendations of shops that do solid work in ripping that out and cleaning it up? Thanks in advance
