Hello everyone,
I’ve been lurking here for a while looking for a solid 100 series and there’s this one on Craigslist. Car spent half its life in CA and half in WY. Salvage doesn’t bother me as long as it was fixed well. Rust doesn’t seem too bad, what do y’all think?

Globe looks a bit rusted. Maybe not a concern. I would want to see repair bill if possible. Probably more than bumper & lights replaced.

If you don’t mind salvage then yeah it looks good. I wouldn’t consider it a “solid” rig but could be good. Black on grey 06-07 one of my favs. Plus it comes with K02s. If not salvaged would sell for 18-20 easy.

Go test drive that beast and report back.

Cool, Will do. Currently activated for the LA protests so I’ll check it out when things quiet down.

Anything else to look out for with the rear end damage?
Here’s a pic of the damage:

The dude said he fixed the quarter panel, I haven’t been able to see the Vic yet. The guy also said that the previous original owner disconnected the front driveshaft... I have heard of people doing that for minor MPG gain, but could that Be an indicator of another issue? Just seems odd to me.

Could indicate a blown front diff and a couple of other things, CV is probably also not there. Maybe a transfer case issue. I'd definitely pass knowing that information unless he gives you a great deal on that.

I'd pass.
You don't want your first experience with any Land Cruiser to put a bad taste in your mouth later.
There are others out there and I'd keep looking.

NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WILL DO IT FOR THE MPG!

Hard pass! Don't buy someone's headache.

Checked it out today, had an appointment at SD Trux for pre purchase inspection, but decided to look at it before I did all that to make sure it was clean enough for me. It was pretty dirty and looks poorly maintained. It was hit rear passenger and just looking at it, it seems the body work was all fixed fine. But underneath the frame is visibly bent On the left side. The tow hitch was a dead giveaway, bending to the drivers side. Black overspray all over and wasn’t fixed professionally. Missing front drive shaft, only God knows why. Too much of a headache, the search goes on.
