I just got some subs and an amplifier custom fit to the trunk and now my rear sits way LOW! Can I just swap the rear springs out with the OME 865s that man a fre has on sale?

My girlfriend had some big subs, and over time, these too have amplified the sag on her rear end.

In all seriousness, if subs and an amp are weighing you down, you probably need new springs, may as well get a whole new suspension set up...couldn't hurt.

I agree. You must have some serious weight in the subs/amps or your suspension is very old and tired. Replace em.

You will love the 865's. No more sagging. Be prepared for a slight lift on the rear end as well. The nice hint is even loaded down you won't see the sagging that you do with oem coils.

. . . and keep the rear to front droop under 1 inch if possible.

That's some serious subs and amps if that's weighing down the rig. How much do they weigh?

Haha yea I'm drivin a 98 with 73,000 and I am pretty sure they are the original 16 year old springs. The sub box is on tracks so it can easily be removed when it's necessary to haul things and both 3rd row seats can also be used with the box

Also how much do y'all think a mechanic will charge me to install the rear springs?

I'd say probably not much, but it is really an easy job. I am not all that mechanically inclined and swapped mine in less than 45 minutes.

You should DIY, it'd get you more comfortable doing things and start the familiarization process with the truck.

I was quoted $115 for the job. I would love to do it myself but am afraid to do it without someone who knows what they Are doing. I don't want to get going and hit a wall. Is tere anyone in the STL area who would be willing to help? Or anyone nearOxford,MS as I will be down there in early august.

Sound system looks great! Coils are simple man, there's plenty of how-to's and it takes very little "skill" of any kind. No friends to ask around locally? It's not like there's anything vehicle specific about the 100 series coils, they're just like any other truck. I'm sure anyone who's done a brake job would be happy to provide a bit of help for some beers.

 no wonder its sagging....get new springs. You can install in your drive way with a big enough jack.

Thanks for the replys guys, I have had the springs for about 3,000 miles and they are such an improvement over my old OEM springs. Thanks for the push to get new ones
