I had the pleasure of wheeling with Bob my first year at SMORR. Could not of met a nicer guy. Salt of the earth -- stand up individual.

I remember driving up as a newbie to SMORR and asking what I should do to get ready for the trails. Here I am, someone he has never met before, and he handed me his staun deflaters and helped me get mudflaps off.

Oh, and after hearing about his 80, I had to have a supercharged engine, so like most great members of our club, he helped me open my wallet up.

Met Bob at our first Flat Nasty event. Like most everyone we met that trip, he was helpful and took an interest in making sure we got started OK. I'd just gotten my Ham licensed and we spent almost an hour talking radios around the campfire after the raffle. He did a great job of teasing & challenging me with advanced electrical theory behind the operation, but worked hard to make sure he didn't get over my head.

Went to send him a thank you when we got home and that's when I saw it. His signature line at the time immediately became one of my all-time favorite ih8mud posts and resonates with me more every year:

"Inside every old person is a young person saying WTF"

Bob, may you forever feel young.:beer:

They say you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.
I realized that will never happen with Bob Garrett

Very nice video.

Thanks for sharing.
