Hey Mud,
Looking for a trusted mechanic in the area. I am extremely busy right now and need some things addressed
before a couple trips later in the year.
Thanks in advance!

If you wanna go to Vacaville I'll work on it. Wrench Works. Check our reviews on Yelp/Google. I don't do mods, though. Mainly factory repairs.

Thanks for the suggestions, for now I am gonna go with the local guy in Orangevale.

What sort of things are you getting done? Let us know how that orangevale guy works out.

Background -
I was told about Steve after I did my complete rebuild last fall. I needed an alignment and AC recharge. He did spot on work. I have a VW Jetta (inherited), I won't work on it. But, Steve has. We joke about Toyotas, etc. Guess what he likes? (hint, it ain't VW's!).

I'll tell him when the LC 80 guy comes in. charge him double!!! ;):beer::steer:

The truck has some oil leaks, a few minor issues that I would like to get sorted.

MOTW- I will let him know you offered to pay:rofl::rofl:

I am looking for a mech as well who knows Cruisers. I am in Davis area. How did it go with Steve?

I wasn't able to drop the truck off until last week, so its still over at his place. He is replacing power steering hoses and fixing an oil leak that he found at the front cover.
I will update with more info after he has finished.

Oh good, I forgot to stop by and tell him to charge you double, so, I've still got time:devil:
He knows how poor I am, Hey, I'm not the guy who lives in Granite Bay, I'm in Orangevale. I'm the biggest dirtball in a dirtball town:rimshot:

Ha,believe me the only way I am in GB is cuz my boss has an old house on his property. The best part is I work on the property, so I don't have a commute.
Otherwise I would be out in Rio Linda😁:hillbilly:

you're in luck!
I did stop by (really) and YES, there were 2 LC 80 series in the garage. A white one and a silver (gray?) one. Both looked pretty dang nice.

Alas, I didn't have the heart to tell Steve to double the price. Almost as good as winning the lottery, eh?;)

Instead of a thank you, I do accept cash:beer:

He should be finished by the end of the week, the radiator is out having a mounting ear fixed.
motw, how about a beer sometime instead?

I don’t have any recommendations but I do have a warning. Stay far, far away from Aaron N. working out of Made in America Made in Japan. He ruined my engine and I had to source a donor.

Good luck on your quest!

Thanks.

I am taking my rig over to WrenchWorks in Vacaville in a couple weeks. Looking forward to a refresh on this old beast, and many more years of family fun.

UPDATE:
Following up with a 100% RECOMMEND review for WrenchWorks in Vacaville. I have complete confidence in the work Christian did, and he is a great guy to work with on top of it. I had his shop work their way through my leaky seals (Power Steering, rear main, transfer case, oil pan, etc.), R&R my drive train, remove some clunky aftermarket security equipment, as well as install upgrades to my PS and AC system. While he is a full service shop, he knows his way around Toyotas and happens to be doing a full 80 resto in his shop at the moment. WrenchWorks is committed to maintaining excellent customer communications and takes the time to talk through things as necessary. And I am the kind of customer with a lot of questions! I have 100% confidence in their workmanship as well as their integrity. Stoked to have an 80 mech in the neighrborhood. 100% recommend.

BTW, he just starting offering a 10% discount for all work for MUD members.
