If nothing turns up, you might look at flying Southwest (www.southwestairlines.com) from Ontario to Tucson. Quick check shows it to be $105 oneway on Friday the 5th. Unfortunately you have to go through Vegas so it takes about 5 hours, which is just a few hours less than it takes to drive it.

Rob, that sucks - cash in hand I guess for the seller.

Let me know if there's anything you find in the LA area that I might be able help you with. You got shafted!

If nothing else, my cruiser is empty, outside of me and my camping gear to and from Pismo.

Pismo is about 200 miles from Ontario. Freeways thru LA will be calmest late at night. I'd suggest loading up your new 80 and getting out of town ASAP. If I just got an 80, I'd be too excited to sleep, and too worried about parking it in LA. (I grew up in LA, I learned to drive in LA, I hate LA). Good luck, see you on the beach.

We will arrive at the Ontario airport at 7:00PM, not sure if we will do the paperwork thier or at his house ten minutes away.

Anyhow, kinda late is it not to try and make it to Pismo????

What do you think our best plan would be.....

1. Start driving and see were we end up
2. Grab a motel that night in or near the big city?

Thanks Pighead see ya thier.

I know this thread should be chit chat, but here is my latest new on this past deal.

The fellow who sold the vehicle had spent time drivng around looking at two other 80 series cruiser in the same area for us, real nice guy. He even drove over a half an hour each way to look at a truck.

He calls me and my wife last night frantic as all can be, he was taken to the cleaners.

SCAMED, he fell for the latest web deal going around.

The guy had a tow truck pick up the 80 after the broker gave him a cheque, part way through the week the new owner called with bad news. He need half the money as he was in need of a emergency operation and would leave the other half with the original owner.

Well he sent off the half of the money and later watched as the remainder of the funds were pulled from his acount???????????????????????

Not sure if all the details are right, pretty close.

The guy calls and offers the truck up to us for a reduced price as he is devistated and wants the truck gone as it is a bad reminder.

We CarFaxed it and he is the original owner and everthing checks out, some people have all the luck or lack there of.

Prolly won`t buy the truck as we have already made a deal on another.

Seems like a really nice guy, I feel bad for him.

sucks for him...
but that's what he gets for renegging on a deal
