Hi guys, anyone know the best location to run wiring from the back of my LX470 to the front? I was thinking about pulling wire through the ceiling cavity on either side.

FYI, I am installing a rear view camera, and I also want to pull a few other wires for a future amp or second camera.

Thanks.

Mike

I stuck my HAM radio in back and ran the power/remote faceplate attachment cables to the front under the door sills. There are a few cables there already (at least on the PS), so I just followed them.

Good luck.

Thanks. I ended up running a video/power and Ethernet cable through the headliner. Had to remove all 5 handles and pushed the wiring through the empty space up inside. At the front I ran the cables down the PS windshield pillar. It worked out pretty well because there was another cable I could zip-tie directly. In the rear I ran the cable to the DS and down near the stock jack.

I'll run additional power and amp wires under the door sills like you did.

Along the edge of the carpeting on the passenger side floor is probably easier. Pop off the door sills and fold back the carpet. There is already a wiring harness there with room for more cables. I have 2 8g cables, a CAT6 and a stereo cable running from from rear fusebox and 2m HAM to the front of the truck, behind the glove box and through the rubber boot.

Thanks. Ill be looking at this again with more cables.

I'm curious, what are you using the CAT6 cable for? Ill be running a megapixel IP camera.

This is how I ran my wiring to the rear. Very easy to do. I would not touch the head liner personally. It's too expensive and if you kink a part of it you have to replace the entire thing.

Is there a difference between running the cables on the passenger side vs. drivers side?

My need in the trunk is on the driver's side, so was planning on running them on that side, but everyone else seems to be doing it on the passenger side... any reason?

Simo, not really. I have my rear camera, Yaesu 8800 remote head wire, along with the sub amp signal and power wires on my driver side and speaker amp, rear power block, remote switch head wire and some power for extra lights which I think you've seen in person on the passenger side.

Running the rear power cables on the passenger side makes it easier to connect to your aux battery if that's how you're setting the system up. Also easier to wire up any radios without fear of needing to remove them if you end up having to pull the panel under the steering wheel for repair work or that TSB that came out three years ago on the 03-07 100s.

Makes sense. Thanks!

Just installed a Kenwood TM-V71 in my '04. I ran both + and - wires all the way from the battery (factory location) to the jack compartment in the drivers side rear.

I pulled the sill plates under both doors but there is plenty of room under there. Besides power I also had to run the remote head, mike, and speaker cables and they all fit fine.

Check my recent post on the Electronic Toys forum for pictures.
