[edit] FINAL DETAILS-
Meet at the I-17 and Carefree Highway gas station (NE corner of intersection) at 9 AM Sunday 9-21-08. We will be leaving there as soon as I fill up to run down the Carefree Highway to Castle Hot Springs Road. If you want to join us last-minute, BE THERE AT 9- I'm not expecting anyone else so I'll be heading out right away.
We'll air down right where Castle Hot Springs Road turns to dust. Any stragglers can catch us there.

So far I see Carl (Blues Dawg) and Rob (robj). Please post up if you plan on joining us so we know who to wait for at the meets.

I'm working entirely too hard. Haven't had a break since the last run, so if runs get me breaks, I'm runnin'. :D I'm thinking of going up to Crown King via Lake Pleasant on Sunday. Any better ideas or tag-alongs, please chime in. I'm thinking of hitting the I-17 and Carefree Highway gas station at 9 AM if folks show interest, otherwise I'll just head out whenever I get up.

I would like to join u if I can escape - or get all my various and sundry tasks accomplished prior. I'll keep u posted.

I might be able to join you, if you dont mind non-members? Rob

No problem, it's not like wheelin, just a dirt road.

I've heard it may be a little rougher since last year- there may be a few ruts or something. :D Supposedly its getting back to the way it 'was'- but I'm not sure what that means. That road has run the gamut from graded road to impassable and back several times in the last 10 years or so.

In any case, there's fudge in CK. :D

Front driveshaft's in the cargo bed. Seized the 1 aftermarket sealed u-joint.
Replacement's en route.

The housings tweaked something fierce. It takes forever to unlock. And it's still puking gear oil still.
Cruiserparts aint got one. Waiting to hear back from Irbus. Scared to aks cdan
Any progress on your "upgrade"? :)

I have a stock front DS laying around, if you need something to get you by. Sounds like your locker problem is the real kicker, though.

I think I'm gonna take it to a machine shop and see what they say.
Unless I find a used one before then.

It's now officially a family affair- my wife, kid and MIL are in.
Weather is lookin' good, projected high of 81. :D

Howdy! I ran this back in April. While there are plenty of Play Options, it's really not bad at all. We had a nearly stock, late model 4runner with us, and he made it without any damage, but he did need to be strapped off of a couple of rocks that were unavoidable. We saw dozens of other rigs and way over 100 quads/bikes that day. Very busy trail. We even came across a white Cherokee straddling two trees in the creek. He was parked on the frame. He was also too drunk/proud to let a Landcruiser pull him off, so we left him to wait for his buddies. Couple hours later we saw Search and Rescue flying around. When we got to town, we found out they were looking fora white Jeep that had rolled off a cliff. DUH!!! Have fun, but watch out for all the Krazy People. John

We're in

The wife, son (2 1/2 yrs.) and I are in, we are coming from Wickenburg so we can meet you at carefree and the lake turnoff? say about 9:30? let me know... It will be good to get in the trees again!

I could go, but I think that waking up after 'Alice In Chains' will be a little rougher than usual. Also, I don't think that the 3 day permit will legally cover the trip. That, and I'm on a quest to watch the Chiefs lose every game this year. Have fun. I'm looking forward to a trail report and some pics.

I got my driveline pieces from CDan.
I'm still out, though, as I'm playing moving van for the :princess:.

Load her and some crap in the truck and take the 'scenic' route. :D
