has anybody used them? i was going to get a set for my fj80 axle since im pretty sure they are the same if not similar housings. i heard they don't fit that great but figured i'd ask anyways as they will save me a ton of time not having to make my own.
so how do they fit and am i way off at thinking they will fit my front axle

It required more grinding then I expected, but anything you use will. The only advantage you get (IMO) is you only need one u-bolt so you don’t need to bend the 2'nd u-bolt to get it to work around the diff.

Lots of SOA threads with pictures..

Mine was a bit rough. The piece looked great but the one I got wasn't cut big enough for my axle tube. I made it work with a fair amount of use of the plasma but in the end, it still saved me some time in fab work and it doesn't leave me with a goofy bent u-bolt.

hmm yeah i'll probably get them anyway. my only other option i came up with was a piece of 3/8" with holes in it boxed to fit. these will end up saving me time anyway.
i wonder why they take so much grinding and odviously don't fit
