Hello,

I could need some advice and information so hoping you can help.me out with this puzzle.

I'm stranded in Malawi with a worn left axle shaft with my hj60.
It's a semi float axle and apparently this is a commen problem.

So I have some options. I can get a replacement from a friend in Namibië, which will be a real pain to get it to me. But that would solve it.

The other idea I'm thinking of, is to swap the entire axle for a full floater off a 75. I can maybe get 1 here.
The problem than would be to make it a matching diff rate. As mine is most likely different from the 75 here.

Is it possible to put my own ring gear and pinion in the 75 axle? And how difficult of a swap will this be?

Thanks a lot already,
Sebas

Full floats are great, I have one on my 60.

One problem I believe those axles are of different widths.
75 series rear axle width is 55.1 inches
60 series rear axle width is 57.9 inches

The 75 series axle should fit a 40 series though.

I just went for it. And was able to get a 75 full floater. It is smaller, but I will solved that with spacers.
For as far as I can tell, the 3rd member of my 60 axle fits perfectly in the 75 one.
Just have to solve the longer handbrake labels, but the rest seems fine.
