Thanks for the offer. I'll take you up on it.

Well, I plugged it back up. I used Teflon tape and hand tightened the plug plus abot 1/2 turn. A bit of crack was still showing so I cleaned it up and dabbed on some more jb weld. I used the quick set for this batch and dabbed some around the lower 1/6 of the plug to lock it in
place.

Thanks for the support guys!

How did the JB weld hold up?

How did the JB weld hold up?

So far so good. I would like to do a more permanent fix. People have given me some great ideas, I just need to get it done.

Heck Yeah!!!

Kevin gave me an idea that I am really thinking about. Cutting off the cracked part, threading some aluminum stock and welding that thing on. I'm not sure I can get that crack to go back together before welding and then just always having a leaking plug because it isn't round anymore.

Either way, I do think it will be easier to drop the TC.

Oh Snap!!

My dad and I removed the VC and while we were putting the cover back on we cracked the case where the pump is. I noticed it wasn't sitting right, there was about a 1/2 in gap and the case didn't want to sit flush. My dad was certain that we just had to tighten the bolts a little and it'll come together. I told him to wait while I read the instructions incase we forgot something but once I got out from under the truck I heard a oops. He started to snug the bolts a little more and cracked the case where you have to align the pump. We removed the cover and a piece fell off. We cleaned the case and used JB weld to fuse it back together and so far so good. The bolt will hold the broken piece in place and I hope the JB holds the crack together. I also had to put some RTV on a bolt that was leaking until I can get some time to reseal the whole case. I have a spare TC I purchased when I found out my VC was seized but I want to see if this will hold up. CDL and pin 7 mod was a success. Here are some pics.

I also noticed something else while I was under thr truck. There's a rubber rectangular piece that is in front of the transmission. I took it off and I can see inside. That is that rubber cover and opening for?

Thanks for all the help and info.
