I hope y'all had a good time. I've been wheeling that area for about 10 years now. In the beginning there was only one hill, the backside.

Just out of curiosity Dan how much is for new spindle
Rear ?
Front ?
:)
Sorry
I am contemplating if I should keep my rear one since spindle does not look good and I am putting new bearings on it.

Front ones are about ~$280, IIRC.

The rear ones are not sourced by Toyota separately. You would have to purchase the entire axle housing!

:) Thanks Adam for starting this thread and any calls that anyone made to try and help get us out of AL not that we were in any hurry, what a beautiful place to wheel!

I made it home on a cracked spindle and a birfield with no splines on the drive flange end... I know this wasnt the smartest thing to do but we had to leave monday morning...

Everything seemed to be fine all the way no problems at all. We made a safety stop every hour or so to check for heat and wheel bearing tightness since I no longer had a lock not or locking washer installed:hhmm:

Thanks everyone I will post pics and video as soon as I can

 Jason

Jason, glad to hear you made it home OK.

In the image, is that a crack in the steel wheel at the lug around 9 o'clock?

What, after blowing up half the front end and spending seven hours winching himself out he just packed up and quite. At last the cruiser still had enough fight in it to get him home. Thats so killer!

Thanks, I am glad we made it also without losing a front tire:)

I went out and took a look at my wheel because I didnt think it was cracked... What you see in the pic is some black duct tape that we used on the inside of the drive flange to hold the grease in for the trip home:hhmm:

I have 2 spindles on the way and we
(North Florida Cruiserheads) are planning on being up there again in 2 weeks if anyone is interested in going shoot me a pm:cheers:

Choccolocco Mountain is an awesome place to wheel and the owner (TREY) is cool as hell:clap: The more attendance they have the quicker they can update the facilities and make it more accomadating like Crawfords with bathhouses and elec & water...

Anyone that is bummed about Tellico closing should check out chocco it is just as sweet if not better IMO... Please dont take this the wrong way I am a supporter of Tellico and Crawfords :)

I would love to see some more 80's and meet some more of you at the next event:cheers:

Jason
