RTH!! Manual Tranny Issue

The transmission will only shift between 3 and 4. It won't slide over to 1&2 or R. Not sure whats wrong. Maybe synchro? Please help

Lift up or push down and try?

It worked. I pulled out really hard and it would move over. So, is that the shifter seat that needs replacement?

Lift up on shifter. Pushing down is the problem.

Removing the shifter is easy. Four 10mm bolts hold the boot on. Pull up the boot. Push down on the ring at the base of shifter. Turn counter-clockwise. It should lift out after the ring is free. Inspect the shift seat. Mine is sorta stiff. I believe you can apply grease to the shifter ball that sits on the shift seat for lubricating.

It will shift so much nicer now. Mine wasn't that bad, but shifting was nicer after replacement.
