Hey, folks! Need the collective wisdom of the forum. I recently converted my '99 UZJ100 to the round 7" headlights from <www.landcruisergrilles.com>. The mounts are a very nice quality item and the installation was straight-forward, but when I plug the lights in (using the pigtails provided with the kit), both the low beams and high beams turn on at the same time, regardless of which position the OEM switch is on. How have others solved for this? My truck won't pass inspection in the state of TX without separate low beams and high beams, and while I have a few months to get this figured out, I was curious to know how others who have completed this conversion have done it.

I'm including a couple of pictures of the old girl with her new look:

show us how you plugged them in, also, show the new light's plug, assuming there is one, or is there two? You said pigtail maybe you used a splitter for both stock plugs.

someone else posted the same thing recently. here, HIGH BEAM STAYS ON?

I don't have much nice to say about that snorkel but you do you fam

Show us your wiring
You're assuming it is a snorkel, but I'm assuming it might either house a sophisticated radar device or maybe echo location.

That is the Toyota OEM snorkel (cyclonic intake), which was factory on the 100 series and is also factory on the 200 series (mine's mounted with an adapter to the Safari snorkel body). The air intake is on the back and the housing has fins the spin the air as it comes in and dump dust out the bottom. It's supposed to be great for very dusty roads which is what I do a lot of here in Texas. I've always liked the way it looks and had it on my previous Land Cruiser as well.

I will take some pictures of the wiring this afternoon.
