We got back late last night from Osoyoos, what a change in weather once we hit Hope! yuck!
Lots of bears on the side of the road through Manning Park, traffic was great, and the air conditioning in the 81 still works great as well :)

A pic of casa Steiger, thats our orange/blue tent in the middle beside our friends new 3000' ft 5th wheel.
And the kids tubing on the lake. We created a monster, and could not get Brianna out of it, even after a bit of whip outside the wake.

Did you use the lockers to get there:rolleyes:?

No kidding. If you have an RV, that was a pretty nice spot, but it was also like living in suburbia where you could hop across the roofs of all the rv's.
Nothing quite like going camping with a general store, laundry, internet cafe, etc etc. I almost wonder why they leave home. Nice lake, really shallow though, but it's all sand/silt.
The ecological center up the hill was apparently quite neat. I didn't get a chance to see it (too busy boating) but some of the kids went and got a good look at the local wildlife....rattlesnakes, and lot's of them.
Our friends have a Mexican nanny, it took a long time for me to convince her that we were in a Canadian desert with rattlesnakes.

I spent a lot of my summers at that lake but on the US side. The Washington State campground is much nicer than any of the commercial camp crounds on the Canadian side, its cheaper and the camp spots are well spaced. Also, the beer (including Canadian beer) is cheaper and they actually have real Mexican food.

Yes, but it won't tast like it does in a Mexican street market. Gotta to have the right amount of bacteria to get the right flavor. ;)

You got to make sure you put the emphasis on "right amount of bacteria". Too much can be a bit of a problem at the other end!!

Si, gotando de grasa y salsa ranchera. :) Lo bueno es que en el verano hay un sitio en la calle Meridian (539) circa a Bellingham.

There is taco stand in Bellingham during the summer? That's cool!
Is bacteria extra? I need to get my threshold level back up...
GG

For the last couple years he has been operating out of a catering trailer off of Meridian St. It's the same street that takes you to the Aldergrove border crossing. I can't remember the cross street but the little vacant lot is north of the city on the West side of the road and has a pub beside it. Good combination. So far I haven't got sick there, so it isn't 100% authentic. In Oriville, there is another Mexican food stand with the same set-up. I found another great place in Burlington. Great big fancy Mexican restaurant across the street and a little tiny one on the corner. Picked the little one, as it was crowded with Latinos.

I am sure there are many more I haven't found. If it looks cheap and has lots of vehicles around, it is a good sign of good Mexican food. I try to avoid overpriced flashy retaraunts that only do TexMex.

For the record, we did not have any Mexican food on this trip. Steaks, chicken, and hamburgers only.

:)

No 4wheeling, no risk, no adventure - this thread deserves to be hijacked. Now if you had added a good dosing of e-coli to those burgers or samonella to the chicken, it would have been different. ;p
