Is this a gas or diesel truck?
I cant seem to find out what size turbo is on this kit. Looks amazing though.
APS makes some serious subaru systems and Ive researched what they are doing there. Good choice.

Thanks owl, it is premium gasoline powered all the way!

So when are you guys gonna stop spending money extras in order to save.......

Thanks man, the kit used to sell for something around 5K IIRC. They are now "out of production" for the 80 chassis in general but AFAIK still available for the 100/105 series with the same 4.5liter 1FZFE engine? Not so sure anymore about that??? You can still purchase a purrrrtttty brand new beauty straight from safari for 80 series 1FZFE's as long as it is in a lot of 25 units or more ... so, we either wait for a vendor to purchase 25 units at a vendor cost of 3.5K to 4K or so, or we get a group buy going! Put it this way, the turbo is so super sweet that if it indeed is available at any time in the future, I would want to purchase one first and then go out looking for lovely 80's to mount it to, yes its that sweet! Thanks again man.

.....up so we can do an order of 25 turbos. Jeeez it is 3.5 to 4K. I know you guys waste money little knick knack crap mods for your rig. The one mod we all need is more power!

I can do it can you guys?????????

At one time we sorta shot this around and about three to four people seriously stated they would want to spend the moolah. Its not really 3.5 to 4K unless there is a good group buy and the good group buys at cost which would mean most likely 25 individual buyers all pooling to one trusted individual to place the order. That would have to be one super trusted individual to place the order and 25 trusting and trustworthy individual buyers who realize any one of them can screw it for all the others. Still if there is any cruiser community out there that could manage this, THIS cruiser community is it! I might H8MUD but I love IH8MUD and IH8MUDers!!! Going through the vendor route we are looking at 5K more realistically. Still, even at that price my statement still stands...I'd get the Safari turbo, put it on the shelf in the garage and THEN go out and look for a 80 to match the thing to!!! Yes it is that sweet and yes more power is the one mod we all need more of, however, 5K gets just about every other mod out there (suspension, tires, protection, recovery, etc.) all at once whereas the turbo makes more power but not necessarily more specific wheel-world required mods! HTH.

Turbocruiser,

Could you post a few more pics of your exhaust routing please? I would like to see how you managed to get from where you went over frame back.

Sure but to be clear, I did not go over the frame, that was the reason for the skid plate stuff I made. I wanted to go over the frame but with 3" exhaust and all the extra heat energy from the turbo, I was gonna cook the floor so I sorta played the paranoia out and went under the frame!!!:cheers::cheers:

TC- I couldn't believe how my rig off roads with the turbo. Just went up Shasta bally here locally, & I absolutely love the extra snap out of the corners & up steep hills. Congrats on a Dead sexy rig, I too have a bit of envy. My suspension is stock & I wanted white.... Kick ass wheelin picks too. I can't believe how hairball that thing is on the rocks. Your attention to detail is insane! BTW... get a bov it helps spool if you have to back off & get back in the throttle. Plus that internal intake mumbo jumbo is silly. Give us more pics please....

Are you happy w/ the heavys? I just want 2.5" I have 4 kids, a wife, a small dog, Yakima box loaded, & stock bumpers. Nice work on the wideband data! We all apreciate the effort.

Thanks for the pic. How about after the bit in the pic? How did you get up and over the axle? I am asking because I will soon be getting new exhaust and would like a few pics to show the tech that will be doing the work.

I know we have been over this before but you really arn't in any danger of cooking the floor if you route over the frame. One of these days your paranoia is gonna get you in trouble. Either that or my lack of it is gonna get me in trouble.:whoops: Course I'm to lazy to fab up a skid plate such as you did so over the frame is definatley the answer.

Hmmm, that's another angle altogether ...

"My paranoia is gonna get me in trouble."

Right On!!! My inner Evil Knievel is just begging to bust out!!! :D:D:D

Wonder how many vehicles a turboed 80 will jump! :D :flipoff2: :D

I ran a 3" pipe over the frame and have no issues, but I only have a supercharger sniff sniff

how does the turbo affect emmissions?

Well, the turbo added about 2 mpg so in that sense the emissions are "better" however to be truthful, I don't think that the turbo either increases or reduces emissions as such. On the one hand you get much better mileage but on the other hand yer foot is in it much more too so I think that it is probably a wash. HTH.
