Cool rig...Interesting to read about the loose spark plugs....I changed mine today and could almost take them out with my fingers....Really clean threads...not sure why they loosen...

The coolant reservoir and alternator bracket are certainly a laugh and a half. (I'm assuming they are only short-term and/or shown there to provoke comment".)

But I love the cruiser and the way it is staying in your family.

Man that curb must have been high!

I hope one of my sons wants to keep my cruiser. (Actually I think they both would like it.)

PS. I'm not sexist (or I don't THINK I am). But my daughter has no interest in vehicles and wouldn't be able to tell a ford mustang from a Vauxhall Viva.

Yeah, I just havent decided on what to do about the alternator, get a different adapter? or try to find the original style alt and have it rebuilt.
The coolant res is hillbilly as it gets. It will be replaced eventually.

The curb was about 18" on an overpass. After hitting it, the guard-rail kept the truck from flying onto the freeway.

If you've got "a bit of a home workshop", it would only take a few hours to make a decent solid top bracket for that alternator (that still allows belt adjustment).

And I hate the possibility of leaking coolant because when it is "ethylene glycol" (like mine is) - it acts as a paint stripper when it gets onto the bodywork. (And I already have enough trouble fighting rust.)
