I know absolutely nothing about rooftop tents but I really like the idea of one and want to get one. Will it mount to this rack that is on my land cruiser or do I need to get something else. Will this support 2 people? Thanks for any advice.

That basket will have to go. Go to YouTube and look up
'How to attach a roof top tent', all the manufacturers will have 'how to' videos.
That will give you an idea of all the different models, manufacturers etc

I am not sure what model Land Cruiser you have, the factory roof racks aren't really appropriate.
Good luck. I use just basic Thule cross bar gutter racks.

I have a roof top tent on my 80 series. On the 80s, the factory roof rack is not up for the task. You just want a couple of strong cross bars. I had some decent gutter mounts and got a piece of steel tubing to use as the crossbar. Others use name brand stuff with success.

In all honesty, I would research or watch videos of people using roof top tents (RTT). Choosing what type that will suit your purpose and the what's involved in setting up, sleeping in - which involves climbing in & out - and lastly packing it up. Basically 2 main catagories - hard shell and the folding type. Today's RTTs are expensive and although the idea is very appealing, it may involve activities that either you physically can't do or that just doesn't appeal to you. Don't get me wrong, for camping near your rig, IMHO they're great and have a lot of advantages over ground tents. But, there's some things that you also need to consider. Like when the tent is set up, the vehicle can't be moved (very far) until you pack it up. Another thing is middle of the night potty trips. Parking as level as possible. Here's a link you might find interesting.

It looks like a 200 series or newer. You'll need to put a beefier rack on than factory. Remember the factory rack is only rated for something like 150lbs. You and a companion up top plus the weight of the tent, you really want something more in the 500+ rating.

You can mount a basket in front of a RTT. I put a cargo box in front when I have mine, and then throw my sleeping bags and clothing up top.
