Roof top tent on factory rack (2 Viewers)

I’m considering do this for the time being while I choose and save for a proper rack. Anyone having issues after some time? I’ll be setting it so the tent rails go across the side runners, not the cross bars. Interested to see others who have done it without issues.

You can either orient the tent cross bars to sit directly on top of the roof rack side rails (have it open to the side or rear), or buy a beefier crossbar system and have the tent rails forward and back in relation to the vehicle.

I make and sell basic cross bars for roof top tents (keenanOffroadFab), and LFD offroad sells model specific cross bars that will accept a tent. Good luck

@Fireman Assuming it's on the OEM rack still, how's it holding up?

There are two types of roof racks in the 100 series. side bars that connect to rail through 2 supports or 3 supports. Rating is probably different. Curious if anyone has done this with two point supported side railings.
