rocker chrome holes

I used herculiner on mine, then went to checkers and got some black nylon rivets with flat heads, popped em in and you can't even tell they are there in less you are looking for them.

Please post some pics when you're done. I was thinking of doing something similar. My body is in pretty good shape, but I don't want rust starting at those holes. I was going to fill them and put down a small stripe of liner on the bottom couple inches, between the wheel wells.

I If you have access to a welder and some 16 ga. sheet metal you can cut little tabs to place in the hole, fill weld the hole, sand it smooth and then paint or coat however you like.

There is drain holes in the seam where the rocker attaches to the underbody.

From time to time I shoot WD-40 in the holes to disburse any moisture that may get in there.

The picture shows mine without the "snake blinders" but doesn't really show rocker real well....LMK if you close-ups.

Good luck.

Sure, I was thinking the same thing! We'll see how she rolls out.

Thanks guys.

I covered the whole rocker w/ 3M clear vinyl tape. It's easy to put on and removes just as easy if needed.

I recently got my rocker panels covered with bedliner. I was told that the bedliner would seal the chrome trim holes..they lied. I definitely wanted to seal them up, although 99% of the time all we have is dust, I foresee that when water gets in with the dust it will turn to mud, and eventually, rust. I was able to find the perfect plugs at Quality Supply (hardware/feed store) in Dillon. It is a black plastic plug that snaps into the hole and looks like it was made for it. It was in the section where all the fittings and fasteners are arranged in the little cardboard tray-boxes; lots of hardware stores such as ACE have these set-ups. Their mark-ups are better than a license to steal. Those little plugs (it takes 10) coat me 50 cents each! But it was instant gratification at its finest.

Got pics? Just took my blinders off and want to do something similar. I think the bedliner would do a good job of resisting rock chips since I took my mudflaps off too.

Also would be looking for pics of the rivets. Do you think you could get them out every so often to "coat" the inside of the rocker?

Yeah, some pix please. I'm getting ready to remove mine, plug the holes, prep some paint bubbles and then durabak my rig this weekend...anyone got pix with the plugs and bedliner painted over it?

Hole's

Welded in metel, but was having to do so in the general area to fix the dang rust, so a few more holes was no problem.
But the nylon inserts and overcovering sounds great. Pics please!!
