I want to remove the RLC tire carrier off the bumper of my LX570. I remember someone showing photos of this but cannot find it. Can anyone assist me?

You shouldn't have to remove any plastic parts. Your challenge will be to cover the remaining stem that carries the bearings. James at RLC probably has an easy solution.

On mine you will need to remove the passenger bumper cover to pull the swing off of the spindle. Pop the dust cap off, pull a cotter pin and remove the castle nut then slide off. You will still have a welded in spindle iirc. I want to say a few guys have used some pvc or steel pipe to create a sleeve so the spindle doesn’t rust.

Thanks for the photo. Mine is like yours (under the plastic panel). Hope it’s straight forward to remove one panel. I assume only one panel? Access via opening tailgate? I always have bad luck with plastic panels.

The panel is very easy to pop off, I start at the wheel and gently peel the back off - there are a number of small tabs that engage at the seam. You will have to remove one or two torx in the wheel well but they are easy to see. You are correct that it is only one panel. The bumper cover is sliced and diced pretty heavily for this install.

Whoops, I stand corrected, mine was on a LC.
