Hey everyone!

New to the forum but have been browsing/searching for quite a bit. I recently had the Dissent rear bumper installed with the driver-side tire swingout. A few questions/issues have come up:

1). My rear middle parking sensor is being tripped. The shop that helped install the rear bumper said that will sometimes happen with the tire swingout. Are there tips to fix this or is this something I'll have to live with (or just disable the parking sensors entirely)? Do I need to go in to do a full recalibration? I didn't others have issues in the search.

2). The shop that installed my rear bumper mentioned that if I had purchased the PASSENGER side swingout, I wouldn't have to relocate the camera and subsequently losing my 360 camera functionality due to the change in angles/positioning. Most of the advice I've seen online here has mentioned going with the driver-side for better viewing angles but I didn't see any comments about trying to keep the camera in the stock position. Has anyone gone with the passenger side in order to save/preserve the rear camera in stock location and subsequently keeping everything working as original? Any thoughts/comments around that path?

Interesting point about the 360 camera being lost due to rear camera relocation. I didn't know there was a rear bumper with swingout that leaving the camera in place would be an option. The pax side location of the tire would make sense though given the offset now that I think of it.

Is this the case with all rear bumpers?

No camera relocation needed with the Slee rear swing out.

I’m running my dissent tire carrier on passenger side and not sure why you were told it wouldn’t need relocation. The the camera had a super wide field of view and there no way it wouldn’t be obstructed no matter what side you pick.

Relocation is pretty painless. I just used some Ethernet cable and ran it under the hatch seal and through the headliner.

Parking sensors are sensitive orientation. I don’t have FSM in front of me but the “tail” where the cable connect is supposed to be oriented in a specific direction.

There is also a cable that’s easy to damage when installing the bumper.

If you have one, could you post what the camera view looks like when in reverse?

Yes, I will make a mental note to take a picture tomorrow, currently dark and raining outside.

Thanks for this. It’s not as bad as I thought it’d be.
Yep, probably be better without the Slee jerrycan holder attached. The parking sensors work good. Knock on wood, I have not backed up into any obstacles since installing 3-4 years ago and there have been plenty.
