Dear all,

I really want to install a 1uz into my 1988 RJ70, I have the engine and the electronic, my problem is with the transmission, I know is a lot of post with this, but I have some doubts, I need the perfect match to the engine and transfer. Or if you have other Idea better than the 1uz please tell me.

Thank you!

That engine was used in everything under the sun - there has to be a huge variety of transmissions that will bolt up. I know the G55 is a manual used in truck applications, maybe that?
The 1UZ was used in a few cars, but always with an auto transmission. The G55 transmission (did you mean the H55?) seems an odd choice and was never supplied with the UZ engines (and same for the H55F).

I wonder if the 1UZ has the same bolt pattern as the 2/3UZ? That would open up a four-wheel drive transmission, but I believe they would all be autos too.

A 3RZ or 5VZ and manual transmission from a 4Runner/T100/Tacoma etc would be a more logical swap.

I thought it was the G55 that was used in the HiAce and some other trucks but I may be wrong.

I can't imagine anyone would need anything other than a 5VZ if they wanted a petrol engine. They're all over the place at good prices with a solid depth of parts anywhere in Toyota-stan I would wager.

I think the all UZ has the same pattern, but some people say the H51 is good other the r151 I know they are good, I know there is a kit for r151 and UZ... I can install a AT too but I don't know if there is a transfer with the right shaft conection.. I only find with right

The R151f from a 1999+ HZJ7x LandCruiser will be your best bet, you can get a bell housing that will bolt up to a 1UZ. An option for an automatic transmission would be an LJ7x A343f rebuilt with LS400 input shaft and bell housing, though that would get pretty in depth.
