I loved this show and grew up with Wallace and Ladmo--my boy scout troop attended a live show--I was lucky and will never forget it.

Thanks for posting this--some of the local boys will really appreciate it.

I never got a Ladmo bag:(

my older sister (by 2.5 years) and I were emailing about this just this morning.
Some of her comments:

Another funny note... Pat McMahon came to my 4th grade classroom to talk about staying away from drugs. He was making jokes about having a monkey on your back. One kid in my classroom got a nosebleed and had to leave and go to the nurse. He looked around the room and deadpanned "some people will do anything to keep from listening to one of my schpiels.". It was hilarious. I thought he was the funniest man in the world.

I thought the info on just how famous and far reaching the show was was really cool. I saw Wallace and Ladmo at a movie theatre introducing a Beatles double feature... ( they were bringing their stuff/props in and I waved and yelled "Hi, Wallace!" and he waved back), and a couple of other times when they were part of seeing Santa Claus who came into the parking lot of Park Central and Christown Mall to toss candy to kids. Such great memories of them. My favorite little note in this article is on the last show Ladmo gave Wallace a Ladmo Bag. Sniff!

I remember catching the show a few times as an adult and realizing that much of the satire was directed at the grown ups and way over the kid's heads. I have no doubt, had these guys gone national, the would have been major stars, we're so lucky they choose to stay local. IIRC, when they went off the air, it was the longest running TV show in the country.

On the final show, one of the last Ladmo bags went to Alice Cooper. Fitting, Cooper's HS band had it's first gig on the show. Steven Spielberg also aired one of his first short films on the show.

I loved that show! Spent the first 8 years of my life in a house near Glendale and 7th. Afterwards, the family moved to Tucson. Then it was the Uncle Bob show. I remember, mom schlepping me and a bunch of friends (I would guess 1970, '71?) on my birthday, fun stuff....
I also remember missing Wallace and Ladmo.

Lots of memories watching the show with my brother growing up, as will many of us of a certain age. They certainly cornered the market on morning cartoon shows and I'm not sure anyone has mirrored that notoriety since.

I remember Wallace and Ladmo. Along time ago my family was visiting my aunt and uncle in Phoenix and I was just a kid. Being from the midwest that was the first time I had ever seen or heard of Wallace and Ladmo. Watched it every day for the week we were there. The other thing I remember was going to a water park called Big Surf, had a blast.

My wife was on that show and won the "bag" lol whatever the hell that means :) I never even heard of the show.

Ladmo bag. A bag of goodies given away to a member of the studio audience. If you grew up in AZ in the 60s, 70s and 80s and won a Ladmo bag, you were the sh!t. There was a time when "I never won a Ladmo bag" was local slang for a deprived childhood.
