There is a free bbq in Nucla Co. Sat August 20th to celebrate the new 160 mile trail between Moab and Montrose. Does anybody want to wheel after. I'm up for going east or west on the trail.

You gonna wheel which way what time you think your going

I think we will get there by 11:30-12:00 and go wheeling after. We were going to head towards moab but we are up for whatever.

We had we had fun at the rally, free bbq at the wife won a go-light. I guess that means I hook up the spot light and she gets to hold the remote. On the way back to Moab we hit the section of trail from urivan on the San Miguel river to Buckeye lake. The trail was pretty much a forest road but there was some awesome views. I will post a few pics later.

An old flume that was hanging off the side of a cliff from back in this areas mine days.

Did the Rim Rocker on Friday 8.19.2016.
Appeared to be the first full size to run it end to end:)
Camped at the 1/2 point by Uravan - Support theses people, great camp ground LC friendly
Also added another ~40 miles of dirt from Montrose to Telluride

I am surprised I did not see you out there.

Saturday afternoon we did the Uriva to Buckeye lake section.

I was concidering this trail on my way to cruise moab 2017, does anyone know if it would be passable first week in May? Not sure if this trail has a seasonal closer dates or would have snow along with very deep water crossing that could be a issue?

Reaches ~9800' elevation. Not a technical trail but not a trail I would want to run if traction was an issue.

The Trails Offroad site, linked above, has external links you can view and/or contact for info. I looked at the Montrose County "Rim Rocker" site, but the "trail update" page went 404. You can register on Trails Offroad, and ask the writer (Brandon) a question directly from the Rimrocker guide page.

Took a look at the Trails Offroad site and it looks like Rimerocker travels for quite a few miles at 9000 ft plus, probably would be snow lingering on the road early in May.
Just have to plan a taking this route later in the year someday.
Thank You
