i REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY wanna do this... is it possible to match the liner color with the '87 "Freeborn" Red Toyota color? pardon my complete lack of knowledge on paint + just about ANYTHING automotive. Also, is $4,000-$4,500 a fair price? I totally trust the shop to do an amazing job as LC restoration is there gig....i just dont want to overpay. They will be restoring the body to "perfect" which is actually as important to me...thanks!!!

I think they are cool, but depending on the condition of your LC, it will depreciate the value of you ever go to sell unless you can find someone that just loves it or wants it for their farm/deer lease.
Most people don’t want to buy a lined vehicle, removing it is a big pain...$$$

my rig is in pretty good condition, that said it would benefit from getting a liner job as they would first fix the body str8 properly. Fixing body and the liner job was quoted at aprox $4000 which seems reasonable. What was kinda wierd...is that i was told just doing a regular paint job would be more expensive. any idea why?

as far as reselling...this rig may be a lifer :)

Plenty of pics/tech on the “Monstaliner Bedliner” thread over in Paint & Body:

I've done small sections on my cruiser for accent. Also for some protection on the lower panels. I did some in 2008 and had to strip it to fix body work. The stuff I use is just the duplicolor spray cans. I've also used the gallon. with the shultz gun in the past. It's tough.

Yessssssssss!!!

if its less work...why would a regular paint job be MORE expensive?

I actually meant less prep for a liner, the liner covers up imperfections better, so I bet they don’t take as much time to prep, just a rough sand and spray. Just 1 coat and no sanding or clear coat.
Also maybe the actual paint vs liner is more expensive?

When I was at the Chicago Auto Show I asked a LineX rep what I’d be looking at (ballpark figure) to line my FJ60. They had a RAM 2500 in their booth that was lined. Looked nice. He estimated $8,000. Now that is probably more just because of the cost of materials. LineX is “military grade,” I say that loosely. So if I wanted it done, that’s the route I’d go.

I’ve personally seen a LineX’d FJ40 and that thing was beautiful. It was done in red. Not sure if it was color matched or just a generic red. Over the years it never faded. I’d be curious to see it today. I think it’s in the Dallas, TX area. Silver roll cage if that rings a bell with anyone.

As for my 60, it will get some spray paint (factory color) done by me. Then maybe when I’m older and have more money, a real paint job.

$4000-$4500 seeming fair 😂😀🤣😂😁🤣

But, we also agreed that he would go nuts on door jams and under hood...ECT. so, I'll have to get more deets on exactly what they will do....
