Did come across something that is good food for thought though, engaging your 4 wheel drive on a regular basis is a a good idea to keep things lubed up.
This is true of every vehicle.

A little bit of the the Michigan wrench works for bitchy pans. Done what you show. Would wave the wrench before I hit the sack. Tension her up. Let Newton’s forces do their magic overnight. Place a cushion below for a light landing! Also finally got the oil pan off. She fought and will need some bang bang around the flange but she’s off. Wife dropped the flywheel off with the machinist while I was out of town but waited until yesterday… hopefully I’ll pick it up tomorrow and everything can go back together.

Had to turn my head sideways to figure out what you did. Creative! Also finally got the oil pan off. She fought and will need some bang bang around the flange but she’s off. There is a lot to like about the soft top and a lot to like about a hard top.
Thanks, it’s a TROA top from Columbia. I’m actually a dealer for them. Well, was until things got…Does look sharp with the soft top. Is that a OEM top or did you get it from somewhere?
So, the above is a reminder for all those who come after… take pictures as you’re taking things apart. It’s harder to figure it out later.
This is one area I didn’t photograph but was finally able to sleuth it via the witness and wear marks on the shaft.
Speaking of which:
Digging around, it looks like there is not an option for a Long Spline input gear for a pre- 8/80 non-split transmission. 16 spline 32mm.
Am I missing something?
I plan to hit up Georg @orangefj45 when it gets to be a reasonable time of day.
I did confirm it with a couple diagrams. The confusion was in the two similar spacers, one takes the place of the PTO gear. The wear marks all lined up so I’m pretty much Sherlock Holmes and stuff.View attachment 4002289
Not the same but my my last bearing on that output shaft was out near the stake nut. Not apple to apple here.
But what is this jewelry here? Split case goodness?View attachment 4002289

I know. Sheesh. But what is this jewelry here? Split case goodness?
Oh yes!, my '81 is a 34mm split case. I sourced this new 38mm split case from @orangefj45 already machined. But what is this jewelry here? Split case goodness?
