Ugh, the hazards of multiple LCs

This was a major FAIL, doh!!

Too many windows up and too many write ups all going on at one time. I need to find a job that pays me to do stuff like this. Then I can be happy.

Mark rebuilt my carb and I have been very happy with it. :)

Well...like a complete idiot I did NOT change the fuel filter at the same time as I did the carb rebuild so it is "looking like" the idle circuit may have something caught inside of it because the idle circuit just stopped working even though the solenoid itself is working fine. What that means is the carb will basically shut off gas when coming to a stop light. As soon as you give it gas, its supposed to shut off the idle circuit and drive normally. Mine no workie and after to talking to Mark and one of my uncle about it, they both seem to agree that some piece of crud got into the idle circuit. So I took it back off and its going back to Mark to make sure that's the issue. Meanwhile I will be replacing the fuel lines that I can get to, changing the fuel filter and possible adding in an addition fuel filter.

Ok so let me give you guys who are considering getting your carb rebuilt by ANYONE...

BEFORE putting the carb back. Replace ALL rubber fuel lines and I mean all. Its easy and only takes about 30 mins to do. Then using compressed air, while the rubber hoses are off, shoot some air through the metal lines. And finally REPLACE your fuel filter...even if its a week old!!!

After putting on my new rebuild and FINALLY getting some time to get it running again after my smog pump took a crap, the truck started smoking black smoke...bad. After taking it off again and getting to Mark, he ripped it open and found that tiny pieces of the inside lining of my old decrepid fuel lines had started to gel up and peel away. Thus clogging the idle circuit completely.

All is good now and runs fine!!
