Working on installing a backup cam in the 2007 Sequoia. Does anyine know what this harness is? Hoping it may offer a shortcut to fishing the nee wire to the front. Location is right by liftgate ecu.

Update; I gave up. I never got a good answer for that harness after extensive googling and am completely intimidated by the thought of fishing the rca plug though the hatch boot and to the front. I bought a wireless transmitter instead. Totally worth the $15 and should have done this sooner!

Splicing into the reverse power in the hatch was easy and some doublesided tape mounted the transmitter. Zip ties and foil tape keep the wire free of the moving parts.

The instructions for the receiver called for taping into the accessory power. I did this initially and it worked, but I did not like that it was powered on all the time when the vehicle is on. At least once while working on it the screen went blue making me think that it was receiving interference from somewhere and triggering the reverse screen (it was also warm and I don't trust any heat load on cheapo electronics). Behind the radio of my 07 was a two wired harness that was not used by factory. Some research said that this was for navigation, and the black/yellow wire is reverse power. The multimeter confirmed that it got 12v only when in reverse! I made a plug to tap into the harness and I still get instant camera feed when in reverse, but know that nothing is powered any other time.

which setup did you go with? i have a grade model tundra and they are missing the section of harness behind the dash, so that keeps it from being plug and play :(

The camera was a Boss that came with the head unit. The wireless video adapter was a cheapo from Amazon. I made sure to get one with a trigger wire so that the screen switches to the camera automatically when in reverse.
