Everyone is worried and nobody knows what the resale situation will be years from now.
Just be sure to keep all documentation regarding the engine swap for future prospective buyers.

Thank you

I know on the Porsches engine replacement-initially people were scared and then things worked out

Hope same happens here

Hard to gaze into the future on this one... as long as you don't see many/any failures of the replaced engines, I don't think it would be a big/major deal.

In another thread someone mentioned the hit on LX's getting a new block from the Alabama plant that makes the V35A for the Tundra, however, there were articles saying that the Alabama plant has also produced at least some (maybe all?, not sure) of the blocks for the LX600, hence, why some LX's are part of the recall.

EDIT - as per below I stand corrected on the LX600 engines. So articles like the following aren’t quite on point for the LX
Recall article .

I wouldn’t get in a rush to sell it. Once you put some time and miles on it everyone will forget.

In the same situation. Not exactly crazy about having the dealer do the engine swap. Honestly not even sure I want to have it done under my ownership. This one has around 15,000 miles on it and no issues.

Did your engine fail or just under the recall?

Yeah dealers can't even do oil changes right, much less the engine swap.

I am having huge issues after dealer did wiring harness replacement on a brand new Tacoma. SIGH.

Eh. They are fine vehicles but I wouldn’t go out on a limb unless your 570 is getting worn.

Doubt the values will plummet too.

Like all cruiser owners with the sickness, an opportunistic 600 buy would be an addition to the fleet. One does not simply part with their cruisers. You just acquire more.

Yes this 600 is #4 and I have a 95 tacoma.

I still wonder if I would have been happier with a base and paying a few grand for the Torsen or waiting for lockers. So I can customize the suspension as I see fit. But I am more mundane now days and just use the ACH as I actually do use this offroad some but lightly.

They definitely need some transmission tuning. Maybe its mine but at 4,000 miles we aren’t jiving 100%. Talked to 2 big tuners in my town (Houston) and they suggested a piggyback and pedal monster (different brand but forgot). No one they knows tunes these yet. I may reach out to a tuner on my Ford truck forum they did WONDERS on a sloppy gas worktruck I had.

Also I am going to switch tires. Getting a jitter.

If you haven't tried him, Loi has done some great tunes on RCF's and other Lexus vehicles. If I pick up an LX600 he would be my go to, and while I have not used him or the shop he is with, I have heard nothing but good things.

570 here owner selfishly hoping these things hurry up and depreciate…
I found one that is affected. Dealer said engine will be replaced when they get one in. Unfortunately it sounds like you don’t get any extra warranty after new install. It still falls under original powertrain start date. I thought about making an offer but still unsure at what number I would feel comfortable spending 90kplus on a “new to me”car with a replaced engine. I have seen a few videos of those tundras pulled to pieces just to swap an engine. Looks intense.
