May be a dumb question, but, how can you determine when the leaf springs need to be replaced? HJ75 series

In the extreme, when they flatten or break. Mine were nice and obvious. :)

I have heard of some places that "re-arch" springs if they are sagging, but I don't know enough about it to give any insight.

My "more than normal" cruiser lean prompted a thorough inspection of my set up, and the subsequent discovery of the cracked leaves after a weekend on washboard.

Are you having issues with your springs, or just wondering?

Like Mike said broken springs are always a good sign haha, I had a few in my rig and I don't know that I ever would have known if I hadn't looked.
I and most on here would agree re arching is a waist of money they will settle back to fast. Even if they are flat it really isn't a huge problem, ride quality my not be as good and you will probably be slamming your bump stop more often then not.

springs

Mine still have good arch to them and nothing broken. I recently ordered new coil springs and bushings and the company sent new leaf springs instead. Instead of sending them back just wondering if I should keep and replace all new.
Bummer part about this is when UPS delivered they brought them into my garage on a dolly and proceeded to dumb them against my wife's Lexus, probably several thousand $$$$ worth of damage.:mad::mad: It's not like I have a Lexus dealer anywhere close so I'm sure 3-5 days to get all this sorted out.:censor:

Fortunately these HJ75's ride so smoothly that having a minor spring issue will probably go unnoticed.:) It is the only Land Cruiser I have owned that required "seat belt" usage just to stay in the cab on unimproved roads.:D

Even if they have some arch,if they are the originals, they will over 20 years old
New leafs and shockies can ride quite nice if they are well matched

Where do they get people like that to work for them

Still on the original springs? My troopy has an ARB Hilift kit and my other 75 has a Dobinsons and the ride is more than bearable.
