I just received my brand new AC condenser. I'm going to replace it this weekend. Any hints, troubles, advices on how to best swap the old one out and put the new one in?

Hey sluff, first off why are you replacing the condensor (ac radiator)?

Just curious, was it diagnoised?

Special Tools: FSM (a must!) set of ac gauges/vacumn pump/ Air compressor/ac o-rings/freon

If this was diag. then you will need to:
1-vacumn the remaing freon from the system 1st
2-remove the condensor
3-replace any o-rings associated with the condensor fittings
4-replace the receiver dryer (any time opening the system replace this,
it removes moisture from the system so when you open the system you should replace this unit)
5-replace o-rings on the dryer fittings
6-pull a vacumn on the ac system-refer to the FSM for time & amount of vacumn
7-install freon into the system again
>during freon install check the sight glass (located DS inner fender) you will see foam first when installing freon, after 2nd/3rd can should get clear)

*after all is done check your vent temps with the AC blowing

GOOD LUCK!

Curious, also. Only 93/94 A/C condensor issues I've seen were leaking fluid on the right side near where the metal line attaches. A new O ring was the solution.

While the condensor is off, it would be a good idea to pressure wash the radiator fins with a degreaser before installing the new one.

I have to replace mine too. The PO's wife got backed in to and that was the only thing they hadn't replaced yet.

Well this sucks. I didn't know I had to replace the dryer also at the time I ordered the condenser. The unit from AutoParts looks liek a perfect bet but I don't think they deliver to Russia. So I guess I will go for OEM option.
I had the system diagnosed and a small leak was found in the condenser body. I got the freon drained and now it's only the condenser and o-rings that I have to install.
The idea of washing the rad while the condenser if out rules. Thanks for the hint , Doug.
