Does anyone know of any vendors selling replacement leather seat covers? I need some for my 96 4Runner.

Thanks!

I purchased seat covers on line to cover the leather seat in my Sequoia but the was to get cloth and protect leather seats which are in great shape from my dogs. Most mid nineties 4Runner leather seats I've seen were pretty trashed. Seat covers would help the look but would really need new padding and upholstery if their like the ones I seen. I've been looking at cloth seat covers for my 99 4Runner. Seats are still good both cloth non power seats don't seem as robust as leather seats. I picked up a set of leather seats many years ago with the idea of using them in a FJ45. Plans changed and now I own a 3rd generation 4Runner. Leather seats are tan and my interior is grey/blue. In my search I've found leather seat covers. I doubt any of the vendors on mud are making seat covers for third generation 4Runners. Metric was making some LC covers but lately seems to be questionable if you get them in a timely manner.:meh:

The front leather seats in my 99 were getting pretty bad. I purchased a set of Leatherette (vinyl) covers from PrecisionFit. I was very impressed with the fit and color. They came with headrest covers but I didn't put them on because my old ones were fine and the color matched so well. I love this old truck and thought it was a great deal for $240 bucks. They have genuine leather too but I didn't want to spend $400. Keep in mind they are just covers and not replacement upholstery so it's not going to look good as new. Just a hell of a lot better that it did before. I also found a armrest console cover on ebay and it turned out pretty good as well.

I've had good results in changing or refurbishing leather or vinyl interiors using Eastwood's spray "SEM" products. Before I did anything important I recolored a piece of tan vinyl to dark gray and then left that piece out on my driveway for over six months. It was soaked, frozen and cooked by the weather, scuffed around by my boots, and even chewed by my pup a little. It held up perfectly and after all that had been done to it it still looked as nice as the day I sprayed it. After that I recolored the leather of a pair of newer seats I'd bought for the Dodge pickup I had from tan to dark gray to match the rest of the interior and it looked great the day the truck was sold five years later.

What first made me realize that car leathers are painted was a 2001 911 I bought. It had a dark grey/black interior but there was light grey showing in wear places on the driver seat, window frame, center console, steering wheel, and shift knob. I don't know if Porsche makes them all light grey and then recolors to make all the other choices they offer, or what. But one can of the above spray stuff made all the wear go away for a nice match that looked like new and lasted fine until I got rid of the car.

Two cans would probably be enough to make your seats match up nice, maybe three.

I know that leatherseats.com can make covers similar to OEM covers. They also offer custom ones.

Their is a vendor on ebay that makes replacement covers out of naughyde for a reasonable price. I think its like 120 for the seat bottom and 150 for the seat back. Im sure he would do real leather too. I did the nauhyde and I like them. They are perfect like factory but pretty close. Their is another vendor that advertises leather replacement covers and has both complete front seats as a kit for like 740 for both bottoms and uprights.
