To further the point(s) above: dropping your valuables into the tuffy and locking it is very inconspicuous and an easy habit.
I leave my cell and wallet in the Tuffy all the time while surfing. I just take my cruiser key and tuffy key with me into the water- leaving housekeys and all that junk also locked safely in the Tuffy.
It's big enough that I can even squeeze my laptop into it, and/or a camera.
Is that perfect? Nope. Not even close. But I'm not going to drive home or to the office before surfing... so the Tuffy is my best option. I've seen kill switches installed in a Tuffy as well.... seems like a good idea. I don't love the stereo comptartment option- seems like the poor stereo is going to get a lot of dirt/moisture in it if it is located that low, with the face facing upward, right next to cup holders... but if you live somewhere where stereo theft is common, that may be the only good protection.
As for pricing- I'm back to what I said before: I'd much rather spend $300 to protect my valuables than spend $300 (or more) and a bunch of time, and a bunch of anger in *replacing* my valuables.
I'm hyper aware of how much I miss my Tuffy now because the new 80 series I just bought only has the stock console.... junk....
