Ok, so my Kc Rally 800's original bulbs burnt out and I replaced them with what I found, h3 130w x-brand bulbs. Needless to say, they SUCK. My lights are not the same.

I need to order new bulbs, to buy KC bulbs itll be done over the internet, since down here I cant find any quality bulbs. But here's my question:

1) are there any bulbs that are brighter than the KC ones?? that draw 130w, what are you using on your spotties?
2) Should I go HID? If so, which kit? Will the ballast fit inside the light? Id rather do something that wont be anything close to half assed or any sketchy install, and off course keep it as simple and neat as possible.

I just saw on Kc's website that theyre now selling the same light with the Internal Ballast 35W HID.. lets see if they sell the kit..

Also, now that we're at it. What H4 bulbs are you using? I'm using Osram nightbreaker 55/60w. Theyre WAY better than any bulb ive used but i'd like to make my lighting the best possible, again, quality bulbs are hard to find, we dont have many to choose from. I wouldnt like to change the wiring harness to take higher wattage bulbs...

Thanks,

You're asking two questions. One about the KC lights and you might try putting KC in the title so owners with this brand will look at your thread (instead of the 8000 of us who don't). As for the other bulbs, I assume you are putting these in a headlamp???? Not sure as you don't say. If you are using these in a LandCruiser factory headlight, it would be a good idea to tell us what year and model LandCruiser you have and what country you live in as LandCruisers were sold in various countries with different lights. For instance in the US, 80 series never used H4s....

Hope that helps.

Well, cant really edit the title now but youre right, i apologize.

My car is a 2002 90 series Land Cruiser (Prado). Down here in Venezuela, all 80's came with H4/H1 headlights, all 62 series as well (not the round-lighted 60s) . 70 series came with H4 (after 1993 I believe) as did the 90 series cruisers. That never changed even though cruisers here were manufactured WAY after they were discontinued in every other country. Didnt know 80 series cruisers used other bulbs in the US.

The H4 bulbs are for my headlights, correct. Ive never seen spotlights that use double filament H4 bulbs so I thought it would be implied...

Sorry for the confusion hope I cleared any left

I have no knowledge on H3 bulbs.

You can see a write up I did on the Osram's here:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/530350-depo-headlights-vs-oem.html

I'm using the stock wiring harness with an Innovative Wiring adapter to covert it to the H1/H4 setup. This isn't an OEM setup, but I find it far superior to what we got in the States. I doubt what I did will be very useful to you, but you can at least see some pictures of the Osram bulbs.

Why not try the see wiring harness upgrade? Seems people like it.

Sorry meant Slee wiring

The slee wiring harness is for the 80 series which has twin headlights (4 bulbs) 90 series cruisers have a single headlight with a single H4 bulb.

ebag: is the h4/h1 that much better than the 9011 (i think) setup on the US spec cruisers???

where do you buy those bulbs??

Absolutely. Follow the second link I posted and you can see the comparison.

I linked to the store in my first post in this thread.

Hadnt seen the link! thanks a million. Ive found photos dont really make any sort of lighting justice, so thats why I ask!
