Needed to replace the steering boots on my 100 series wagon, instead we just replaced the full cv shafts. Now there is a strange noise coming from the front end, kind of sounds like a whirring noise. Not sure if I should mention I only redone the suspension a few days before.(not sure if this would have anything to do with it)

Can you describe the noise more in depth. Is it rotational? Does it change with speed? Does it sound like metal on metal? Rubber on metal? I just had noise looked at by a mechanic. I also noticed it a while after I did cv joints.

Sounds like a grunting noise. I've noticed it only happens when slowing down, still dont know where its coming from. Its like its grabbing somewhere, noise is coming from both sides, so I can't pin point problem. When we did cv shafts I noticed they were a little thicker than the ones we pulled out, not sure if thats the problem cause it drives ok. Im going to replace rotors and brack pads this days off, see how we go.

Where did you buy these CV shafts? (there is only one correct and trouble free answer)

Provided the CV are correct fitment. One must also take care when assembling with the; seals, steering knuckle Needle Bearing & Bushing (tend to grown on cold mornings if heavier than #1 grease used or in need of grease), both inner and outer wheel Bearings, torque of Adjusting & Lock nuts and Snap Ring "gap".
