Whats the thoughts going with OEM or aftermarket Throwout bearings? I have dropped the three speed and am going through it. I cleaned up the throwout bearing and was noticing it is a BCA bearing. Some of the local autoparts stores sell this brand. Seems tight, but it is not a sealed unit. I was wondering how or if it needs to be lubricated? The pics show cased ball bearings. Are the OEM replacement bearings sealed units? Next, how do you get it off the hub? I saw a post with a slide hammer puller.

OEM or Koyo (OEM supplier) equivalent every time. It's a pain to pull the transmission and transfer case; when you do, you want to put new top-quality throwout and pilot bearings in so that you don't have to worry about them until it's time to replace the clutch again. Cheap insurance.

Most any kind of puller will take them off, as long as they're not rusted on or something.

Make a trial fit of the pilot bearing on the end of the input shaft to make sure it goes on, before you stab the trans. back in the clutch.
