It's hard to get everyone to agree on a date. I will be making the trail run on the 14th since I voluteered to help my father-in-law on the 8th.

I'm already scheduled to work on the 14th but I'll try to trade shifts. Really want to run that trail with toyota guys since my only other time I was with a Cherokee that caught on fire and had to be dragged out in the dark. Not much fun.

Why am I not surprised when I read "Cherokee" and "fire" in the same sentence?!:hhmm::hillbilly:

I hate to say this but I had a fire in my FJ60 this year. I would have to say that the part that burned was not original Toyota equipment. I am blaming it on an old brake controller and marginal installation job by the vehicle owner.

I was just going to sit back and let the people with weekend jobs hash this whole thing out, so now that we are going on the 14th--I will try to make it.

Not sure which rig I will bring, not too excited about bringing the red sled on this trail....as I usually end up dragging trucks with less than 35's through this trail when I go. Big black 4runner ought to be done by then. hopefully.

P.S. this trail was in BAD shape last time I ran it, If you don't have front and rear lockers, please make sure you have tow hooks....... :)

Mark,

You need to test the sliders!

There are bypasses for the first part of the trail, and throughout the whole trail there is almost no chance of rolling over, but that mogul hill somewhere after the rock pile is treacherous. It really depends on the day, but not too long ago, I had to pull my winch to get up to the top.....but it was pretty muddy.

I have had to pull a rig with 44's to the top....then saw a guy with 33's make it no problem.

I have never seen anyone with 31's make it without a strap. I've personally witnessed 3 rigs break an axle on this section, all jeeps, 2 dana 30 fronts and a dana 35 rear.

The section I refer to is really the only hard part of the trail, Just have to know your limitations and get pulled up rather than blowing your engine trying to make it to the top.

After that spot.......If there is snow,.......there is an off-camber section that has no sunshine, so the snow seems to always pile up. It can get spooky and usually makes me turn around. We'll never know until we get there :D

its gotten a bit worse.. I still have not made it past the fist hill this year.. the groups i was with either ran out of daylight, or broke s***. Sliders will get a workout for sure! we can always tug you up stuff if you need!

My 96' is still on the stock 275/70's but I do have front and rear lockers. From what I've read so far, does the Reynolds' wrap section join up with the Eagle Rock trail higher up? So if it is too itimidating could I take a different route and hike back in to watch the others? My hope is that the running boards get so mashed up and mangled that my wifey agrees that I need to rip them off and put on sliders instead!

Oh we can definately help with the running board problem.

HAHAHAHAHA.......He's right, don't listen to us. I haven't had much luck getting Leon to tear his running boards off, might have a new victim. All fun aside, there are plenty of bypasses around Reynold's wrap, you're gonna be fine.

Hey now, I'm trying to get sliders, but likely more bypassing for me next weekend.:crybaby:

We'll i'm down to my last option for ditching my shift off this saturday. A whole load of:censor: hit the fan at work this week and its hard to be motivated right now. Hope to blow it off and have some fun this weekend!
