Hi
I bought a mechanical oil pressure gauge from autometer last year and still haven't installed it, haha it always seemed such a daunting and annoying task (everytime I looked at the stock sending unit I always wondered how i was going to get it off). Well today i had high hopes and attempted it, I knew it should be a straight forward process and shouldn't be difficult (its one nut and two wire...
).
Well I got in there and I tried, but i don't understand at all how you're supposed to fit a wrench from underneath the sending unit or from above and get enought leverage to crack the unit without bumping into the oil cooler (to the left, or the other hardware to the right). Any ideas how to get the sending unit off? i'm stumped and fustrated
.... I got a 14mm wrench ( a short one) to fit on but there is no room to break it). Is the bell shaped unit supposed to come off first, or is it all one peice? I was thinking of just accessing a different oil galley plug on the block. I know they exist, just don't know where.
So anyone who has done this please let me know how you accomplished this.
Cheers
