Spook -
Both my bumpers have 3 receivers each - middle for hitch (obviously) & outer 2 for mounting plow (in front) & winch carrier (both ends). Rear has shackle mounts in line with the frame.

I stole the double-ended winch idea from one of my customers with a CJ - he said most often the easiest way out is the way you got in.

You have any pics you can post? I've never seen one (front or rear) with three receivers. Sounds like a kickass idea though. Might take quite a bit more gusseting, but that shouldn't be a problem once I have the overall design figured out.

Rig, no kiddin huh? I had always thought 8s had the highest sheer strength and a lower end-to-end pulling strength. I learned something today :grinpimp:

When I was 17, I grinded off one side of the rivets and punched them out. It was very easy, and it did not really affect the surrounding area. I had to do it for my shackle reversal. I would recommend the grinder.

I ground out all the rivet heads on the front bumper about a week ago. Took less than 15 minutes. Small grinder wheel will work better than large as the clearance isn't reall large.

After grinding down, I used an air chisel between the mounts and the frame to pop the mounts off. Easy.
