Removing Ignition Cylinder WITHOUT Key? **Update** (1 Viewer)

As a follow-up to my post earlier this week (Key/ignition won't turn), my question today is if there is a way to remove the ignition cylinder without the key? I've read the many threads regarding ignition issues and watched the great youtube video of the step by step process to remove the ignition lock cylinder; however, since my key won't turn the ignition at all even to the ACC position, I'm currently unable to remove the cylinder as that last step requires the key to be in ACC while releasing/pressing the little button on the underside of the cylinder.

So, anyone know of a way to remove the cylinder either without a key in the ignition or to macgyver a way to get the ignition into the ACC position?

**Update**
I went to the hardware store and had them cut a new non-chip key for a few dollars. Obviously knowing this wouldn't start the car, but luckily after a few tries I was able to get it to turn the ignition! Turned it to ACC, popped the release button on the bottom of the cylinder, and was able to remove it. Next step before replacing anything is to take it to a locksmith to see if they can fix it somehow. I was going to delete this post, but figured I'd leave it for anyone's future reference.

For anyone needing this later.
Ignition Key. Key wouldn't come out of ACC position when got home tonight. I've had it break completely before. Don't want to force turn it and break get key or the cylinder. . I OCD'd about it a few months ago and took it out to locksmith, he said I was good but once you know it's not smooth you know somethings up.

Update, took the cylinder out, all good. Key will not exit from ACC to off when battery hooked up. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY, KEY COMES OUT. I'm now thinking it has to do with alarm/anti theft system. I have one newish key (made from Vin) and the tumblers were checked a few months ago. Any new ideas?

Could be something with the gear position switch. The gearshift has to be in P -- Does the indicator in the instrument panel show P?
