I'm stupidly trying to translate the pretty picture of it in the OM but cannot figure out how to disconnect the seat. Help!

On the metal bar atop the wheelwell, you'll find a thicker area about 2 inches long. On the seat connection right at that spot, you'll find a thick metal tab that's angled. When you push this spring loaded tab, you'll note it allows you to slide the seat either forward or backward (can't recall) and a curved metal part will slide out of this thicker area allowing the seat to be removed. You'll laugh when you see how easy it is.

 You are correct, sir! Thanks!

If you need some where to store those seats just let me know!!!!,

I want to try to fit them into my fj60.

(Or if you have a line on a cheap set)

Ironically, I went down and removed mine now that our houseguests are gone. 10 minutes later, I was informed by the boss that she was driving on a field trip for school and I was putting them back in. If you keep them on a high shelf like I do, this can be an excellent way to stay trim....

bwaahaahaa. I thought that crap only happened to me.

tlcbtv - just look around at your local TLCA club to all the 80 owners. A lot of folks that wheel their trucks use the cargo for pure storage space and ditch the seats. You should be able to pick up a set real cheap.

Also watch ebay and this forums FOR SALE section.

Not to Hi jack...BUT The little black bars that are supposed to push the latches back into place so they will latch into the floor are NOT hooked up on either side of my 3rd row seats. I have tried a couple times to reattach them, but I don't want to bend the tubes to make them useless.

What is the handy dandy trick I am missing?

Thanks.

DC

The bar has 2 attachment points. The end with the two plastic C shaped hooks go on the side where the seat mounts to the wheel wells. The otherside ends with a little hole. Just find the "male" part under the latching mechanism, and connect the "female" part to it. :flipoff2: There's a little clip that is supposed to secure it in place, mine has one side missing, but has never came apart once I "introduced" the two parts.

and wash your hands when you done....

Thanks Safado!
