I tried to search for this but does anybody know how I can remove the drip molding that runs along the roof? I attached a professionally doctored picture so you can see exactly what I am talking about. I am in the midst of Monstalining my Cruiser and want to remove it so I don't have to tape it off.

It feels like I slide it towards the front to remove it but it seems like it's getting hung up on something.

I don't think it's press fitted as I can slide it back and forth across the channel. To me, it seems like it slides off, but I can't confirm and don't want to apply too much pressure.

Had to remove the same for installation of my Front Runner roof rack.

Mine were not pressed in. There are clips (4 or 5) on each side that hold the cover in place that I had to release as the cover slid forward. There should be openings in the cover where you can access each clip as the cover slides forward. I used a flat screw driver to release the clips as the cover slid forward.

Recommend wearing gloves while you are sliding the cover; the metal edge on the cover can be sharp if your hand slips while pulling on it.

@Bloomer that helps tremendously. I think I am going to leave the molding off as I have a LabRak which requires removal but never did because I could never figure it out. Thanks for the pictures!

Duggy, these are the clips that hold the molding. I ripped the molding out and left them in place. They don't bug me and I didn't want to deal with the holes so I'm ok like that! I always thought the molding looks ugly up there!

I think those clips just have double sided sponge-tape on the back... You can just pull them off and clean up the underlying paint with some rubbing alcohol, if you want.
