Removal of rear disk 2000 LC

Is removal of the rear disk (rotors) more difficult on the rear than the front? With the parking brake and all. I'm looking for instructions or any special things I should be aware of. I've done a search here but don't seem to come up with anything. Thanks, Mike

Its pretty simple. You might have to back off the adjustment of the parking brake shoes. Lube the parking brake swing arms up really good while you're at it. They tend to rust up and stick "on"

Holy crap, these caliper bolts must be welded in place, I can't budge em and I'm strong! Do I need to soak them over night?

Got the caliper off, do you just hit the disk now to dislodge it?

I banged on mine with one of those lead shot filled plastic mallets and it wiggled off.

Make sure your parking brake is not set or adjusted too tight...that is what typically prevents or makes removing the disc more difficult.

You can use two long bolts on the disk itself (around the same area as the studs - they are smaller like a 12mm or something close to that) tighten the bolts evenly and this will make the disk move, it will probably help to use some penetrating oil around the middle section of the disk.

So, once the caliper is removed there is nothing else to unscrew or special too required to remove the disk, just bang on it, right? What about the center of the disk, the new one has a hole in it, the one on the car has a steel insert, any comments on what this is, I'm trusting that I can reuse this piece on the new disk once I figure out how to remove it. I actually have the FSM but it doesn't seem to cover removal of the rear disk.
