Can there be any other damage other than to the release fork. I replace my slave since it blew out and of course installed a spring since it didn't have ine before, and the pedal was mushy, well i've seen the post on tht adjustment so forget that, anyways I took spring off to get pressure and was able to disengage clutch put it first and as i engaged it, the release fork blew out. not sure of it slid off the rod and spun first or if it let loose inside and got chewed up. i pulled bell houseing cover and the fork is wedged in there pretty good, but the clutch plate only has a few minor scratched. Anyone know if I am good to go to just replace the release fork or can ther be other damage that led to this.

Thanks

Sound like the slave and fork are not in correct alignment.....

any excessive wear on the pivot, fork or other internal associated working parts??

got me, I can't even get the torn up fork out yet, it's wedged and busted in there. the slave and fork have to be in alignment, I 've got the slave bracket and there's only one way it can mount. I am guessing that since the gomer that had it before me didn't have a slave bracket and was one bolting it, and had no return spring, that the fork took some tweeking and abuse over time. Does this sound about right? I am figuring on replacing fork and making sure all adjustments are correct, rod length and flow from masre cylinder and seeing if that solves it, doing the fork replace without dropping tranny is the nightmare though.

The slave can be mounted upside down, positioning the rod at an angle thus pushes the fork not straight on.......kinda makes the fork wanta roll over off the pivot.........
