So I called to find out if I can buy a replacement pole for the tent I bought there a few years ago. The answer: We still sell that model, it has been updated a bit, but bring in your tent and we will just give you a new one.

Nice! Thats pretty good customer service. Working at an outdoor/kayak store here in columbia I've never had to deal with them but thats good to know that they back there customers that well.
 
I used to work at an REI several years ago, we dubbed it Return Everything Incorporated. But they do have an awesome customer service rating...
 
I had the same experience with my Therm-a Rest chair. I broke a stay (rib) using it in a canoe. I called them and she wanted my info. I gave it to her, and she said it'll go in the mail today.
Sometimes it does pay to buy quality stuff.
 
I returned my tent. I bought it in 2009, didn't have a receipt. They looked it up, priced a brand new tent down to match, then shipped it to my house. Awesome.
