I recently purchased a 2013 LX. I'm curious if I need to run it on premium or if I can run it on regular gas. I ran my 100 on regular for 331,000 miles with no noticeable issue with reliability, drivability, power, or mileage. I don't tow a big trailer nor drive in big mountains.

Thoughts?

The sticker in the fuel door says 'Premium Unleaded Fuel Only', just like the one in my 100. The 760 page LX owners manual isn't very clear on this point.

It will run on 87, just not the same as 93. Give it at least 3 tank fulls of either before forming an opinion of how it runs. The tune will adjust to a different octane (very well these days). With such a high dollar vehicle I'd probably just keep buying the 93.

That sucks

Curious to learn why the diff and what's the diff.

Maybe it's because the LX engine is rated for a couple of horsepower more than the LC engine and needs premium fuel to assure the higher number?
